Russia

Russia, previously competing under the flag of the former Soviet Union, are the most successful nation in EuroVolley Women history. After the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991, Russia claimed the continental title in 1993, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2013 and 2015. They emerged as world champions in 2006 and 2010 and secured Olympic silver medals in 2000 and 2004.

Their resume includes World Grand Prix titles in 1997, 1999 and 2002 plus an endless list of medals from world and European competitions. Back in 2017, at the last EuroVolley, Russia lost in the quarterfinals to Turkey to finish off the podium for the first time since the 2011 edition.
