For the 28th time in their history, the women’s national team of The Netherlands will participate in the European Championship. In the previous 27 editions, the team playing in orange managed to earn six medals: bronze in 1985, silver in 1991, 2009, 2015 and 2017 and gold in 1995.
“We are very much looking forward to the European Championship. After winning back-to-back silver in the last two editions, we are aiming for gold this year. I like the new formula of EuroVolley, with four organising countries. Because the number of participants is expanded, we will play against new opponents, and I am excited about this.”

In the past decade, the team has been very successful, with three podium finishes in the last five editions. Although the current generation of players was very successful in the past years, the players are still hungry for more than silver. They would like to put a crown on their careers by winning gold in the most prestigious European competition for national teams.
