Action moves to Amsterdam as the World Champions take on the 1-2 Montenegro.  Based next to the 1928 Olympic Stadium, the Sporthallen Zuid will see the competitions debutantes face the double World Champions, a tough fight. A win for Montenegro would be big in this game as they are fighting with Ukraine and Czech Republic for a spot in the eight finals.

Match Report

Poland continue to roll as they defeat Montenegro in straight sets with subs

Article 16 September 2019

On Tuesday night Poland booked their fourth victory in pool D of the European Championship. In the first match in Amsterdam, the Vital Heynen's had no significant problems with Montenegro. Heynen started the match with star players like Wilfredo Leon and Mateusz Bieniek, but once the match developed he put all players in the court who are normally not in the starting six. Also, the ‘second team’ of Poland impressed with powerful volleyball and was too strong for Montenegro. Of course, they have the advantage of 2018 world champion starters like Artur Szalpuk and Jakub Koachonowski coming off the bench. Poland has a rest day on Wednesday. On Thursday they are playing their last pool match versus Ukraine.
