Day 1 Recap

Play

Jamie MORRISON, head of the Netherlands:
“We can play better, we can be more aggressive, in some phases of the game we should be a little bit cleaner. We made some kills for sure, we blocked, made four-five digs out there. We worked really-really hard on the defense, we need to talk about some things and we’ll be even better tomorrow. We have a really difficult schedule, 21 matches in six weeks, we have a deep roster, I would like to give all the players the chance to compete for the spots. This is why Lonneke Sloetjes and Robin de Kruijf did not play today.”

Luciano PEDULLA, head coach of Romania:
"We were focused until the second set, but we lost because it's very difficult to play against the Netherlands. We have problem on position of middle blocker, losing many points there. The girls had a good warm up for the next game."
