EuroVolley Ambassador

Nikola Gjorgiev

North Macedonia

Profile
Nikola Gjoergiev grew up in the city of Strumica.
His first Volleyball practice was at eight years old (1996):  it was love at first sight, and in 2001 he started to play for the first team in his native city.
In 2005 he made his first international transfer to Serbia with the team OK Radnicki Kragujevac. Since then, he has been for 18 seasons, constantly playing abroad in countries where Volleyball is at the highest level: Serbia, Italy, Turkey, France, Japan, Poland, Germany and now in, Slovenia.
He worked for the Macedonian national team. He started to play in 2003, and passed all age levels. In the MKD senior team, he debuted on 03.06.2005; "I have never missed an official match. I have been wearing the captain's armband since 2011. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead my teammates on the third CEV European Championship in a row, which is amazing for the Macedonian Volleyball family."

“When I heard the news, I was the happiest person in the world. For me, it's literally a dream come true. I love Volleyball, and I love to play for my country, and since I was a kid, I have dreamed that one day we can play at such an amazing event on the home court. And to be a Eurovolley ambassador is a privilege I am so proud of.”
