Istanbul – Where Continents Meet
Istanbul is a city like no other, straddling two continents — Europe and Asia — and blending centuries of history with a vibrant modern spirit. Once known as Byzantium and later Constantinople, it has been the capital of three great empires: Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman. Today, Istanbul remains Turkey’s cultural and economic heart, where ancient landmarks coexist harmoniously with dynamic urban life.
Visitors can start their journey in the Old City, exploring Hagia Sophia’s awe-inspiring dome, the magnificent Blue Mosque, and the historic Topkapı Palace overlooking the Bosphorus. A stroll through the Grand Bazaar offers a feast of colors, scents, and sounds, while the nearby Spice Market tempts with exotic flavors. Crossing the Galata Bridge leads to Karaköy and Beyoğlu, where Istanbul’s creative energy thrives amid cafes, art galleries, and rooftop bars.
For a more local experience, hop on a Bosphorus ferry to witness the city’s skyline glimmering at sunset, or relax in a traditional Turkish hammam. Istanbul’s food scene is equally rich — from crispy simit by the waterfront to world-renowned kebabs and mezes shared with friends. A city of contrasts and connections, Istanbul invites every visitor to discover their own rhythm where East meets West, and history meets now.

Brno
Brno, the second largest city in Czechia, combines historical charm with modern life. Its university atmosphere, excellent cuisine, and diverse cultural offerings make Brno a city that is definitely worth visiting – whether you come for sports, architecture, or its unique atmosphere.
One of the most famous stories about Brno is the legend of why noon strikes at 11 a.m. During the Swedish siege of Brno in 1645, the city's defenders wanted to confuse the enemy, so they had noon strike an hour early. This custom has been preserved to this day as a symbol of the ingenuity and courage of Brno's inhabitants.
This tradition is continued by the modern Brno astronomical clock on Svobody Square – a six-meter-high black sculpture in the shape of an arrow, which commemorates the siege of the city. Every day at exactly 11 a.m., a glass ball falls from the clock, and those who are lucky enough to catch it can take it home as an original souvenir.
The center of Brno offers a mix of historical monuments and modern architecture. The city's landmarks include the majestic Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, Špilberk Castle, Zelný trh (Cabbage Market), and St. James's Church. Also worth seeing are the Old Town Hall with its legendary dragon symbol and the ossuary at St. James's Church, the second largest in Europe in terms of the number of remains found. The famous Tugendhat Villa, a pearl of functionalism listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also worth a visit.
The Brno Dam, a popular place for recreation, water sports, and walks, invites you to relax. It is here that the Brno Beach Pro 2026 world beach volleyball series will take place at the end of August 2026, attracting the world's best pairs.
Brno will captivate you with its energy, stories, and charm – it is a city that you simply must experience.
