CEV EuroVolley 2021 | Women
The plan of the visit consisted of a tour to the ‘Aleksandar Nikolić’ sports hall, Belgrade City Hall, USC Voždovac hall in Banjica district, ‘Kočović’ fitness centre, the accommodation facilities and the headquarters of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia.
Lubor Halanda“I am very satisfied, the people from the Volleyball Federation of Serbia are doing their best and I think that everything will be ready for EuroVolleyW. I think they have done an excellent job this far.”
As per the original plans, matches should take place at the iconic Štark Arena, but since this is currently hosting a COVID-19 hospital, the CEV and the Volleyball Federation of Serbia are assessing the possibility of moving the games to the ‘Aleksandar Nikolić’ sports hall. This very same arena hosted the final stage, including all semis and medal matches, of the women’s European Championship back in 2011.
CEV EuroVolley 2021 Women is due to run from August 18 to September 4 in Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania, with matches played in Belgrade, Plovdiv, Zadar and Cluj-Napoca.
Next to Mr Halanda, the CEV delegation visiting Belgrade includes Maja Poljak, CEV EuroVolley Women Project Leader, and Zoran Avramović, CEV Marketing Advisor, plus Alessandro Fanni and Luigi Catalfamo from media partners Infront. Ivan Knežević, Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, Dragutin Ćuk, Technical Director, Dejan Bojović, Director of the EuroVolley 2021 Company in Serbia, and Milan Vujačić, SPR Manager for the event, attended the visits and meetings held in Belgrade. A delegation of Arena Sport TV was present at the venue as well, including Zoran Panjković, Programme Director, and producers Miša Laketić and Zoran Sredić.
