Dreams come true - Volleyball with no boundaries in Bulgaria

“I do not dream of cars and palaces, of money and wealth, I do not dream of being able to see again. My biggest dream is to watch live a match of my favourite Bulgarian Lionesses! To support live my idols Eva Yaneva, Petya Barakova, Elitsa Vasileva, Hristina Vuchkova and the whole team!”
Words that inspire, don’t they?
One of the biggest fans of the Bulgarian national team, Dobri Stoyanov has shared them some days ago on his social media accounts. Even though he visually impaire, he is “watching Volleyball with his heart” for some years now.
And #EuroVolleyW 2021 made his dream came true, showing all the fans in sports hall “Kolodruma” in Plovdiv that Volleyball’s power is beyond any limitations.
On Sunday, Dobri, attended the match between Bulgaria and Spain. Dobri’s favourites, the team of Bulgaria smashed a 3-0 win, outperforming their opponents on attack (47 winning spikes compared to 29 by the Spaniards). Emiliya Dimitrova finished topping the charts with 13 points to her name.
DObri celebrated with the Bulgarian Volleyball Fan Club the second victory of the Lionesses in Pool B.
However, to Stoyanov, it wasn’t the statics that mattered. The emotion of meeting his favourite players and being part of the Ultimate Volleyball Show left him without words at first. After the match, the Volleyball fan shared his feelings.

Despite having busy schedules, and all the responsibilities and personal lives, many of them took their time to pay attention to me on the social networks. They were always very kind to me. And on the field, they are my greatest joy.

To his delight, on Saturday, sports hall Kolodruma became a full house. More than 2500 fans, respecting the Covid measures, have come to cheer for the Bulgarian team and contributed for the creation of an outstanding atmosphere.

The Bulgarian players themselves were happy to meet their big fan, who has lost his eyesight. His favourites, Eva Yaneva and Petya Barakova took a photo with him, and gave him a special gift - a poster with the signatures of all the players from the national team.
Both players extended their thanks to Dobri.
"We thank you for being here and for the support," Yaneva said to the emotional fan.
Some time ago, Eva saw the posts of Dobri in the social media, and started writing to him.
Talking to him after the match on Saturday, Bulgaria's outside spiker sent also a special message to all the Volleyball fans across Europe - that the love for Volleyball is beyond any boundaries.
