Serbia and Poland Sparkle in EuroVolley Openers
News
Day two in Ghent, Belgium saw two of the favourites at this edition of the CEV EuroVolley 2023 enter the court for the first time. Serbia and Poland have some of the best rosters on the continent and that strength was all on display as they faced Ukraine and Slovenia today.
A swift straight-sets win in just over 70 minutes of playtime for Guidetti’s side, in a match where Tijana scored 14 pts and they managed to keep Ukraine to a points total of 49 points. Impressive by any measure and Serbia is now looking forward to their next match, this Sunday vs Slovenia.
The second and third set were more of the same, with Slovenia having some very good moments of play, just not enough to cause any major issues to their opponents. Great match for most of the Polish side, with the team functioning like a well-oiled machine. Martyna Lukasik and Magda Stysiak both scored the double digits and will be looking to add to their tally in the upcoming matches.
