Austria
Austria made it to the Final Round of EuroVolley for the first time through qualification and for the seventh time overall.
Belgium
This EuroVolley will be Belgium’s 16th participation in the continental showpiece event – and the fifth in a row. Belgium achieved their best result to date at the previous EuroVolley hosted by Poland.
Germany
Germany had one of their most successful periods in the last several years, finishing fifth at the Olympic Games in London and winning two medals at the World Championship 2014 in Poland (bronze) as well as at the European Championship 2017 (silver).
Serbia
The national team of Serbia have an impressive record of 11 medals in the European Championships so far, including two gold (2001 and 2011), one silver (1997) and eight bronze (1975, 1979, 1995, 1999, 2005, 2007, 2013 and 2017).
Slovakia
Slovakia has won the CEV European League twice in 2008 and 2011. Their best finish at the European Championship was a fifth place in 2011. This year they will make their 10th appearance at EuroVolley.
Spain
Spain have featured 11 times in the Final Round of the European Championship, three times at the World Championship and twice at the Olympic Games.
