Belarus achieved their best result in the continental showpiece event when they finished 15th in 2013 at their maiden EuroVolley appearance when Denmark and Poland co-hosted the European Championship.
Finland have played 17 times in the European Championship and their best achievement so far is the 4th place they claimed in 2007 in Moscow.
The Macedonian national team will play at the European Championship for the first time in their history.
Russia return to EuroVolley as the defending champions following their gold medal performance in Krakow two years ago where they beat Germany in the final.
Since 2007, Slovenia have participated at all European Championships, but the historic result came in 2015 in Bulgaria and Italy, where the team coached by Andrea Giani won the first medal – a silver – for the country at any major international competition.
Currently ranked no. 15 in Europe, Turkey competed at the 1963, 1967 and 1971 European Championships before a break of 36 years until they celebrated their next appearance in 2007.
