Serbia

Serbia are the reigning women’s European Champions, World Champions and Olympic silver medallists. Serbia (previously as Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro) have participated in 18 editions of EuroVolley Women – out of 30. They have claimed five medals in their history, including gold in 2011 and 2017, silver in 2007, and bronze in 2015 and 1951. Serbia have played 120 matches at EuroVolley this far, recording 53 wins and 67 losses.

The results from the last couple of years say that we have to aim for the top. Of course, the gold medal is our primary goal, and if we play like we are used to, I do not see any reason not to give our fans more to cheer about at the end of this season.”

As many as 134 players have played for Serbia at the European Championship. The record holder is Jelena Nikolić who participated in seven editions and played 43 matches. Maja Ognjenović (40) has played at six Championships, Brižitka Molnar (34), Nataša Krsmanović (33), Milena Rašić (31) and Suzana Ćebić (27) have made five appearances at the continental showpiece, whereas Cvijeta Stakić, Nada Zrilić, Majda Novak (all played 28 matches), Jovana Brakočević (27), Tijana Malešević (25) and Stefana Veljković (24) have featured in four events.
