Article
23 September 2019

Russia staged a true comeback already in the beginning of the third set with a partial score 7-1 in their favour. Slovenia fought back and minimised the gap, but they could not pass the 21th point. They came back strong in the last set claiming a 5-point lead and staying ahead all the time, putting fans into delirium with a solid 3-1 win. Jan Kozamernik"This is crazy. I was dreaming about this and I knew one day it will happen. We have the best fans in the world. I cannot describe all my feelings. We left our hearts on the court, we did everything to win this game. We are going for the gold."
middle-blocker (SLO)
Alberto Giuliani"Sure I believe in these guys, because I know them very well. This evening against Russia we played unbelievably well on attack, on serve. Together with these magic supporters, it is difficult for the opponent teams to win against us."
head coach (SLO)

Alberto Giuliani (SLO)
Tuomas Sammelvuo"These are interesting sporting moments, when you win easily the previous game and then the next game is always a war from the opening on. We knew perfectly that they will serve very very well. I have to congratulate Slovenian team, they played a great game, they attacked very well their high balls, not in our block but searching different angles, and on the other hand we had many problems with our attack in the first two sets. Today they were a lot better."
head coach (RUS)
Igor Kobzar"First set was important. We played point by point and we had four or five situations in which we made mistakes and gave chance to Slovenian team who took adventage of them. It was difficult to change the game. Before the game we were the favorites and that was pressure for us. Slovenian fans gave crazy energy to their team and they were better thanks to that."
