Styliani Christodoulou“We are very excited because this game was like a final in our quest to reach the next round. We deserved this victory and I am very happy with it. Tomorrow we will have time to rest a little bit. Our next game against Bulgaria will be difficult because they are a strong team but I hope we will perform just as we did today, as we never lost focus. We want to do our best.”
Captain and setter of Greece
Krista Michaela Bjerregård Madsen, player of Finland: “Greece got better after the second set. Their reception got better, they showed more tricks and they served harder. We had some troubles but I think overall, we played quite well as a team. I am extremely proud of my girls. Maybe we lost a little bit of focus or maybe the other side just had a little bit more. That is how we lost a couple of balls in a row. We were not able to get back fast enough. The ends of the sets were close.
We have one day to prepare for the France match. It is an extremely important one for us. We will rest and prepare. We are going to give everything as we do with every game.”
