Elitsa Vasileva“Normally, it is not easy to finish third at this stage with two wins only. However, thanks to the other results in the group, we were able to avoid the match with the team finishing first in Pool C, the Netherlands. I hope that we will use this opportunity and return to Ankara again. After learning the name of our next opponent tonight, we will start our preparations and hopefully return from Budapest with a good result.”
Captain of Bulgaria
Laura Pihlajamäki, captain of Finland: “I am really happy with the way we fought here. We enjoyed every match. Of course, we wanted to win this game and go further but it is okay. Bulgaria is a top team and today we could not put up a fight against them. Now we are disappointed because of this but overall I can say I am happy about this tournament and satisfied with how we fought against such strong teams.
We are not the tallest or the most famous players of this tournament but we are really hard-workers and we fight for every ball, we defended really hard and we never gave up. I hope everybody saw this and we keep on doing that so we will be here also next time.”
