Montenegro with an important win at the beginning of the Qualifier in Tbilisi
Montenegro started on the right foot in the Qualifier in Tbilisi, as in the opening match of the competition in Pool F, outclassed 3-1 the team of Azerbaijan. While on attack and on the serving line both teams showed almost the same level, the outstanding performance on the block (18) by Montenegro became the key to the success for the players around Veljko Basic. The Azerbaijan player were able to record only 3 successful actions in this element during the whole match.

Montenegro took the lead in the beginning of the first set, and started building a comfortable point difference. However, they lost track in the last moments of the action, allowing thier opponents to get closer in the score. Azerbajan, however, made some errors on the serving line and helped Montengro open. Aleksandar Minic contributed the bost in these moments, scoring 8 points for his Montenegro.

The players around head coach Veljko Basic maintained a 2-points difference in the beginning of the second set. Thanks to better performance on attack (14 winning spikes) and 4 blocks, Montenegro got closer to the final victory. Azerbajan were struggling on the serving line in the decisive moments, and Zvicer (MNE) with a sharp attack put the end of the discussion in this part.
