Overview
Greece lost their opening match at EuroVolley 2021 to Ukraine after a tough five-set battle on Thursday. Their outside hitter Athanasios Protopsaltis has already shown his potential and with his teammates they hope to challenge Belgium, being at full strength after one day of rest. Belgium will be even more eager to recover after suffering two losses, as they were beaten by the defending champion Serbia (3-1) on Thursday, and then suffered an unexpected defeat from Portugal in tie-break. But Sam Deroo & co. will definitely try to banish memories from the first two games and show their teeth to grab a first win.

Belgium take first win to stay in hunt
Wout D'Heer"We made a better start than during the two previous days, we immediately put a lot of pressure with our serve and we had a good reception and then our setter could play everything. There was a lot of pressure, we knew that this was our last chance, because losing this game would mean being out of the tournament."
middle blocker of Belgium
Georgios Petreas"All the teams here fight to qualify for the next round, we knew that we had to play !00% to win this game, but Belgium played really good today. We had an opportunity to take one set, but they started again to play much better. We missed our power. Tomorrow is another difficult game but we will continue fighting."
