      Saku Suurhall is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the Estonian capital Tallinn. Opened in November 2001, it is the largest multi-purpose hall in the country and holds slightly more than 7000 seats. It generally hosts basketball games, as well as other sport competitions, trade fairs, corporate events and concerts. In 2002 Saku Suurhall hosted Eurvision Song Contest. Over the years many international pop and rockstars have performed there. Just to name few - Sting, Ed Sheeran, Bob Dylan, Biffy Clyro, R.E.M., Metallica etc. 2019 Men’s European Golden League Final Four also took place in this hall. Capacity: 5000

      Visitors coming by car have more comfortable possibilities for parking on the sides and in front of the hall. The parking lots of the adjacent shopping centres remain also nearby. Eurovolley FanZone is located in Vabaduse väljak (Freedom Square). From September 1st to 9th free shuttle buses are operating en route Vabaduse väljak - Saku Suurhall - Vabaduse väljak. Exact timetables and further details will be available at FanZone information booth. The public transport bring visitors right to Haabersti bus stop located just in front of Suurhall. The buses no 22 (from Vabaduse väljak), 42 (from Kaubamaja) and 43 (from Balti jaam) drive regularly from the city centre to the hall. Get directions

    Bio

    Robert Täht was born in a small town of Võru on August 15th in 1993. After staring in the Estonian League he went to play in the top leagues of Poland, Italy and Turkey. He won European League golds (2016, 2018) and World League group 3 in 2017. Baltic League MVP (2015). Estonian Volleyball Player of the Year (4 times). In his free time Robert likes to play Beach Volleyball.

    The co-hosts of EuroVolley Estonia have had to endure many painful setbacks in the tournament so far and have by now minimized their chances of progressing to the playoffs. However, they will run on the court on Thursday, hoping for a miracle to happen in front of their home crowd - to beat the Olympic champions France in the last match of Pool D and qualify for the next stage of the tournament. With the venue Saku Suurhall completely sold out for the match today, the amazing atmosphere is guaranteed for the closing performance of the pool.

    France beat Estonia and win Pool D. Latvia grab last ticket for Ostrava

    Estonia entered the match with a dim hope of progressing to the next round. A win over the current leader of the pool France was needed to make that happen, however, a miracle did not happen today at Saku Suurhall. France took a 3-0 victory and will progress to the next round with a sole lost set in their 3-1 win over Germany. The standings of Pool D close with France, Germany, Croatia and Latvia leaving for Ostrava in this order, while Slovakia and Estonia end their #EuroVolleyM campaign.

     

    Despite the best efforts of more than 4000 supporters of Estonia, the Olympic champions showed to be the class of their own. Estonia was weaponless against France’s serve with Trevor Clevenot taking his team ahead 17-10 in the first set.

     

    The starting six of team France did not include two star players Earvin Ngapeth and Jean Patry, which nevertheless did not affect the favorites’ performance. With ruthless serve and attack they won the set 25-17.

     

    Estonia fought hard to keep up in the third set. In the middle of the set France started to gain advantage and despite some brave defence moves from Estonia, France ended the set 25-19.
