Although first place in the pool and a direct ticket to EuroVolley 2021 was beyond their reach, Belarus needed to win and win clearly for a secure second place.

And that's what they did in their last match of the qualifiers, with Uladzislau Babkevich leading the side on 11 points. Babkevich and Norway's Jonas Kvalen who bagged the match high with 12 were the only two players across both sides to venture into double figures.

Although Norway were just that bit more productive in blocking, Belarus had the upper hand in all other skills and never brought any doubt for the outcome of the game.

Viktar Beksha, Belarus head coach: "We had a very good performance in this pool. Every game was difficult - not only against Portugal, but also Hungary. Maybe today's match was a bit easier, but all other games were very difficult. We played for everything today. We had to win and we did it."

Tore Aleksandersen, Norway head coach: "It was tricky today - it was men against boys. We have been struggling the whole tournament with injuries and we have had to play with young guys who do a great job job for us, but of course when you play against a team such as Belarus with their powerm, it's more or less impossible. This qualification tournament will be a great plus for us in the future, beacause I think these guys have learned a lot these past weeks. Yes, I'm disappointed with the fact that we could never put our best team on the court, but that's life in sport and we have to analyse and regroup and get ready for the next qualification."
