    The second match of the day matches hosts Romania with the Netherlands aces. Romania will have an extremely difficult task to win against the dutch, even though they will have massive support from home fans in the BTarena. For team Romania, Alexia Căruțașu, a rising star, is the top scorer, while Ciucu is the best receiver in the group. From team NED, Julien Lohuis has caught the eye so far during the tournament and will aim to help her team extend their 100% win percentage (0 sets lost so far) even further. Can Romania driven by the home fans stop the Dutch from having a perfect record? We are about to see!

      Opened in 2014, the BTarena is a multi-purpose indoor arena. Is one of the biggest and most modern of its kind in southeastern Europe. It can house more than 7,000 guests for sporting events and around 10.000 for a concert. The arena opened on 21 October 2014. The arena hosted a concert, on 31 October 2014, by English musician James Blunt, who sang from his album Moon Landing. The concert had an attendance of upwards of 6.000. Since then, Julio Iglesias, Eros Ramazzotti, Lara Fabian and Modern Talking have held concerts in BTarena. In 2017, the European Gymnastics Championship took place inside. The arena's seating capacity for basketball games was expanded to 10.000 seats for the FIBA EuroBasket 2017. In recent years, many Fed Cup tennis matches have been played at the BT Arena.     Bio

    In May '08 Anne Buijs made her debut in the national team in the match against Australia at the Montreux Volley Masters. The strong wing spiker conquered silver at the 2009 EC in Poland, the 2015 EC in The Netherlands and at the 2017 EC in Azerbaijan. In '16 won bronze in the WGP and ended a 4th place in the Rio Olympics. In the '21-'22 season she will play for Dentil/Praia Clube.

    Another success for the Netherlands!

    In the second match of the day, host Romania faced favourites team Netherlands in what has been a great volleyball match. With a fantastic crowd cheering for the hosts present at the BTarena, Netherlands have started the match in wonderful fashion. In defence, the Netherlands have been the better team, while also taking the lead with good service. Romania never found their rhythm and the first set ended with a very blunt 25-12 on the scoreboard.The story of the second set however is entirely different. Romania’s attacking gears were fixed and led by Rodica Buterez, the hosts were not having any of what team Netherlands wanted to send their way. The crowd pushed the team forward and the hosts finally got the lead in the game after a tense rally. 25-27 and the game is on.The third set started in an extremely entertaining fashion, with team Romania maintaining their spirits and going head-to-head with team Netherlands. The experience of team Netherlands showed in the end, and Romania couldn’t keep up with the change in play. The Netherlands take the lead, 2-1 on sets.The final set of the game was a short one, with lots of errors by team Romania. Team NED was impressive with their blocks and their quick build-up play. Even though the Romanian team seemed to get back in the game, team NED used their experience to quickly seal the 4th set.
