The second match of the day is an interesting encounter between group favourites Turkey and team Finland. Turkey has won everything so far and are confident of taking the game in straight sets today. Dominant performances by Ebrar Karakurt, Eda Erdem and Meryem Boz have helped team TUR put together a series of very good results. For Finland, the first line of defence is Anna Czakan, their top blocker during the match against Ukraine. Straight-set victory for Turkey
The 2nd match of the day in Cluj-Napoca highlights the duel between group favourites Turkey and team Finland. Finland, which have failed to win so far, faced the impossible task of beating ``the Sultans of the net``. After a surprisingly good start on the first set where they led by a few points, Finland lost their rhythm and Turkey regained their favourite status in impressive fashion. Their setter has been in impressive form, setting up play for Karakurt and Gunes, who simply dominated the offence. Finland couldn’t respond in any manner to Turkey’s attacks and the first set was adjudicated easily by the Turks.
In the second set, Turkey’s defence has been just fantastic, leading the game with 6 blocks. In the attack, Finland has hit the point of no return, having no chance to turn the game around. After several incredible spikes by team TUR, the second set has come to closure with 25-12 on the scoreboard. The third set has continued in the same fashion, with team Turkey showing the most entertaining volleyball so far. Fantastic job on the attack and several great rallies have transformed set number 3 into a spectacle. Turkey won and maintained its impeccable record: 4 wins out of 4 games.
