Tampere Ice Stadium, also known as Hakametsä Stadium, was Finland’s first ice stadium originally built for the 1965 Ice Hockey World Championships. The legendary stadium is well suited for various competitions, trade fairs, concerts and other large-scale events. Hakametsä Icehall is just less than 4 km from the city centre and it is easily achievable walking or with you own car, taxi or bus. You can walk from city centre to venue in 45 minutes and see beautiful sites of Tampere at the same time. By bus you can found Hakametsä with many diffrent buslines: 3A, 3B, 6, 9A, 17, 25, 29A, 29B, 40A, 80. All these bring you to less than half kilometer from the venue. By car you can found venue (address Keltinkatu 2) next to Hervannan valtaväylä on eastside of the citycentre. Parking places next to the venue are limited during EuroVolley. Get directions

Born in Ankara, Baturalp Burak started his career in volleyball at high school. His major successes include: 2011 EYOF first place, 2012 European Championship (Young) Best Receiver, 2015 World Championship (U23) second place and 2021 CEV Europe Golden League first place. He would like to have more time with his three year old daughter, using his drone and making videos.

Bio
Thijs ter Horst is the powerhouse for the Dutch on the outside. After having played three years in Korea for the Daejeon Samsung Bluefangs he returned to Italy where he previously played for Verona. He joined Piacenza and after a year he transferred to Sir Sicoma Perugia in 2020. He played most of the season as opposite and can be used by head coach Piazza on both positions.

TURKEY v THE NETHERLANDS
The Netherlands were strongly led by Nimir Abdel-Aziz who scored 34 points in the match against Turkey, which they won 3-1. They now top the Pool C in Tampere before the last round robin matches of these two teams.
Abdel-Aziz was almost unstoppable from the beginning. The Dutch opposite could only be blocked a couple of times in the end of third and fourth set, but Netherlands still could take the lead again each time.
Turkey either is not only a one-player-team. This time they started well with their captain Baturalp Güngör, who totally scored 20 points.
With his aces and powerful jumping, he also produced many points in all the fields. First set already started with many aces.
Opposite Adis Lagumdzija found his scoring for Turkey in the third set and finally he got level points with his captain. But that was not enough for Turkey as the Dutch block succeeded to block him again in the fourth set.
Despite Turkey produced a great lead in the beginning of the fourth set, The Netherlands cought them by 18-18 and went all the way to win the match.
The Dutch outside hitters Robert Andringa and youngster Bennie Tuinstra showed their best level action during the match as Thijs Ter Horst and Gijs Jorna had their time tonight mainly in the substitutes corner.

Nimir Abdel-Aziz“It was a big fight – from start to end – but we knew we could expect such a tough match, especially after watching the performance that Turkey had delivered in their previous matches. This victory is extremely important towards the final standing in this pool. I think we were extremely focussed and concentrated after the score reached the 20-point mark – and the players who came in from the bench did perform very well, so they deserve some credit too.”
