Team Turkey won in straight sets against Ukraine
Game 2 from day three in Group D has put team Turkey against team Ukraine. Turkey were huge favourites for this clash but Ukraine were motivated to get the first win of Eurovolley 2021. The match started strong, with Turkey excellent on the service - 3 consecutive aces early in the set. Ukraine’s defensive system was no match for Turkey’s intense firepower. Karakurt, Dundar and Zehra Gunes of team TUR have dominated the floor with authority. With no hope in sight for team UKR, Turkey started the second set in the same fashion as they finished the first: ruling the pitch. However, Ukraine got back in the game and tied the set 13-13. An unfortunate event caused a change to the match officials. After the break, Turkey found their rhythm and started showing why they are regarded as a huge contender for medals this edition of Eurovolley. 2-0 and the third set was a simple formality for team TUR, who won in straight sets without taking a sweat, even though Ukraine fought until the end.

After the match, Eda Erdem Dündar declared: "Unfortunately, we played ourselves with some unforced errors. We played good volleyball but also bad volleyball. Today we served really hard, the attack and defence were good in the end. I have never played against Sweden yet, but I am eager to face Haak, who plays in Turkey."
